ROCKINGHAMRoof Restoration

About this service

Updated October 2026

Rockingham Roof Restoration is a local referral service for Rockingham and surrounds in Western Australia. It does one thing: when you need roof restoration work, it puts you in touch with one of the experienced, insured local roofers who works your suburb.

The area we cover

Two councils, the City of Rockingham and the City of Kwinana. They are separate local governments, Kwinana having been carved out of Rockingham in 1954, and they share a boundary that takes about ten to fifteen minutes to cross. A roofer working Rockingham quotes Medina and Orelia as a matter of course, which is why both sit inside the service area rather than one being treated as out of town.

The City of Rockingham sits about 40 km south-west of the Perth CBD, covers roughly 260 sq km with about 37 km of coastline, and holds around 160,000 people across 17 gazetted localities. It is Perth metropolitan, not the Peel region, which starts further south at Mandurah. We do not cover Mandurah.

How it works

You send the quote form with your suburb and what you need. Your details go to a local roofer who services your area, and they call you back with a price. Quotes are free, there is no obligation, and you deal with them directly from there.

The fine print, plainly

Rockingham Roof Restoration is not a trade business and does not carry out the work itself. Jobs are referred to independent local contractors, who hold the registration or licence their work requires. Nothing on this site is a quote, and the contractor's own written quote is the price that counts.

WA has no roofing-specific licence class. That is not the same as roofing being unlicensed, and the distinction matters more than it sounds. Roof work that needs a building permit is builder work, and Building and Energy's own material on builder work notes that it can include re-roofing, so once such a job meets the value threshold, which the cost guide sets out, it has to be carried out by a registered building contractor. The registration classes in WA are builders, building surveyors, painters, plumbers and gasfitters, so the useful question is never whether a roofer's licence exists, it is how your particular job is classified. Ask what registration the contractor holds, check it on Building and Energy's licence search, and ask your permit authority, the City of Rockingham or the City of Kwinana, whether the job needs a permit.

We also publish no figures we cannot source. That is why you will not find a percentage on how much faster a coastal roof degrades, a tile-versus-metal split for Perth, a dollar range for a Rockingham restoration, a warranty or durability term in years, or a corrosivity category against any suburb anywhere on this site. The numbers that are here, the Bureau of Meteorology rainfall means at the Garden Island station, BlueScope's own distance guidance for its own product and the City of Rockingham's own profile figures, come from the people who publish them, and the page says which is which.

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Baldivis, Secret Harbour and Kwinana?

Yes to all three. Baldivis, Secret Harbour and Golden Bay are inside the City of Rockingham, not outlying areas, and Baldivis is in fact the largest locality in the City by population. The Kwinana suburbs are a separate council but are part of the same working area for a local roofer.

Do you cover Mandurah, Madora Bay or Lakelands?

No. They are in the City of Mandurah, a separate market with its own identity, and a Rockingham brand quoting down there would not pass the local sniff test. Singleton is our southern limit.

Is my property heritage listed?

Probably not, but it is worth checking. The City of Rockingham adopted a new Local Heritage Survey in August 2025 identifying 100 places of cultural heritage significance, of which 51 were placed on the City's Heritage List. Only the listed places carry legal protection, and a listed property may need the City's approval before external work. If you think yours might be one, ask the City before anything is booked.

My estate has design guidelines. Does that affect roof colour?

It can. Some of the newer estates in the growth corridor run design guidelines or built-form covenants through the developer that constrain external changes, and roof colour is sometimes one of them. That is private contract rather than planning law and it varies estate by estate, so check your own paperwork before you choose a colour.
